Real shared world.

Bitiverse is a persistent multiplayer RPG built for the browser: one shared landscape, a growing player economy, permanent homes, dangerous dungeons, and an alarming number of ways to become distracted.

Players can enter as a guest, make a tiny adventurer, and start exploring without an account wall or a heroic download ceremony.

Short description · 37 words

Bitiverse is a free one-bit browser MMO where players explore one persistent shared world, fight monsters, gather resources, craft equipment, trade, form guilds, enter dungeons, and build permanent homes.

Long description

Bitiverse is a small but genuine persistent MMO that opens directly in a web browser. Everyone inhabits the same world, where players can explore, fight monsters, gather resources, craft equipment, learn magic, trade through player markets, form parties and guilds, venture into procedural dungeons, complete quests, and claim land for public or private houses.

Characters, possessions, buildings, and player-made changes persist between sessions. Bitiverse is publicly playable and actively developed, with guest entry available for players who want to step into the world before creating an account. The pixels are tiny. The consequences remain regrettably full-sized.

06

How the world works

Bitiverse uses a TypeScript client and a SpacetimeDB TypeScript server module. Its base terrain is generated deterministically rather than stored tile by tile.

The database stores persistent characters, creatures, belongings, buildings, and player-made changes. That leaves the world free to be large while ensuring your house—and the seventeen chairs inside it—are still there when you return.
